Five years at a Manchester design agency taught me the technical side. Six years co-running BAVE taught me everything else. The packaging, the website and the campaigns, yeah, but also the stuff nobody puts in a portfolio: talking suppliers into believing in a brand that only existed in our heads, filling bottles in an unheated storage unit in winter, answering customer emails, and eventually, selling the whole thing.

In 2025 I swapped Manchester drizzle for Perth sunshine (and a lot more sunscreen). In 2026 BAVE went to new owners, and Dave the duck (our rubber duck mascot) went with it.

What’s next? Ideally a small team building something worth giving a shit about, where design is part of the job, not the whole job. I want to be in the room for the product, the packaging, the launch and the “why isn’t this selling?” chats, and then go away and make the work that fixes it. Or a brand that needs building properly, start to finish.

I’m based in Perth but happily work UK hours. Your morning is my afternoon.
